Process Engineer

The role

As a Process Engineer at AdamantQ, your main responsibilities lie in the development and implementation for diamond-substrate based microfabrication processes and its assembly within electronic chip carriers. Our components rely on the meticulous electronic control of spin systems in artificial diamonds. You will work with the configuration, installation, and management of our deposition, assembly, and testing lines, for scalable micron-electrode fabrication and chip-carrier bonding and assembly. 

The role will involve working within a multi-disciplinary team, with a broad skills base and wide range of technical backgrounds, to tackle the challenges of industrialising quantum sensor components for real commercial impact. The role presents significant opportunities for personal development and immediate contribution, as it builds technical planning and execution proficiency and insight to help shape our manufacturing and scaling strategies.    

  • Develop, execute, and manage, clean-room-based electrode deposition, assembly, and bonding processes for irregular and non-wafer-based material substrates. 

  • Investigate and implement fabrication strategies for optimising yield and process scaling. 

  • Support and implementing DC/RF testing routines for micron-scale electronic circuitry.  

  • Implement best-practice internal technical documentation and archiving of process and manufacturing development.  

  • Coordinating and collaborate with external partners to execute fabrication goals and meet deadlines.   

  • Develop an in-depth knowledge of a wide variety of semiconductor manufacturing processes. 

  • Develop, maintain and improve production processes. 

  • Ensure high levels of tool availability by effective process and tool control strategies. 

  • Analyze, interpret, and respond to measured product data in a timely fashion. 

  • Work closely with the Product Engineering and R&D teams for new product introduction. 

  • Assist with fault finding and recovery of process tools and assist with developing improved tooling and tool support strategies. 

  • Work within a cleanroom environment. 

  • Work with various computer software packages including specialist or bespoke computer systems. 

  • Adhere to all site safety and environmental procedures. 

 

Responsibilities

  • Apply Lean techniques to improve process outcomes and tool performance. 

  • Manage existing equipment and take charge of sourcing, procurement, and installation. 

  • Analysis of tool and process data with continuous improvement based on SPC and 6-sigma principles. 

  • Be able to push and manage other process-development projects as required. 

  • Equipment cross-qualification to ensure continuity of supply and to improve component assembly capacity and reduced production cycle time. 

  • Provide best-practice training 

  • Manage and lead a growing process and production team. 

 

For senior applicants, further responsibilities would include:  

AdamantQ is seeking a self-starting, highly structured, and collaborative individual with the following profile: 

Required profile

  • A degree in a semiconductor-based discipline and 5-10 years of directly related experience. 

  • Familiarity with SPC, 6 sigma, and similar methodologies, is a plus 

  • Knowledge of manufacturing execution systems (MES), is a plus. 

  • Knowledge of photonic integrated circuit manufacture would be an advantage. 

  • Experience within a high-technology manufacturing or production environment is an advantage. 

  • A person who excels in role with a high degree of independence and accountability.  

  • Ability to drive initiative with limited oversight, and be a technical anchor. 

Other requirements:

  • Strong attention to technical details.  

  • Excellent attendance, timekeeping, and punctuality.  

  • Self-motivated and dependable with good communication skills.  

  • Must have a professional attitude to work and to colleagues.  

  • Ability to demonstrate flexibility in working hours when necessary to meet business demands.   

We are offering a full-time, permanent position based in Lund/Malmö, Sweden, with some flexibility to work partially from home. The employment will start with a six-month probationary period. Our compensation package includes competitive salaries aligned with industry and regional standards, Qualified Employee Stock Options (QESO), pension contribution, and health insurance. We also provide healthcare allowance and offer 30 days of paid vacation.   

Salary range: 5000 - 10000 EUR.
Starting date: Q3 2025 or according to agreement
